War, Energy Crisis and Global Instability

The International Conference on War, Energy Crisis and Global Instability: India’s Strategic Response
(ICWEGI 2026) is organised by the Centre for International Law and Policy (CILP), School of Legal
Studies, REVA University, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Indian Council of World Affairs
(ICWA). The conference aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, researchers,
policymakers, diplomats, legal experts, industry professionals, and students to deliberate on the
rapidly evolving global geopolitical landscape and India’s strategic role in addressing contemporary
international challenges.
The contemporary global order is undergoing a profound transformation driven by armed conflicts,
geopolitical rivalries, economic uncertainty, energy insecurity, climate challenges, and technological
disruptions. The Russia-Ukraine conflict, the evolving tensions involving Israel, Iran, and the United
States, instability in West Asia, disruptions to global supply chains, and strategic competition among
major powers have significantly reshaped international relations, global trade, and energy
governance. These developments have reinforced the critical interdependence between global
security, economic resilience, sustainable development, and international cooperation.
