What is going on?? And how dangerous is the situation?

Events in the U.S./NATO/Ukraine challenge to Russia have been moving at a frenetic pace. Ukraine increased deployment of military troops to the eastern provinces on the border of Donbass. Russia predictably responded by mobilizing a large part of its military to meet the Ukraine threat. In another incident, the US publicized two U.S. warships heading into the Black Sea; Russia warned US/NATO not to send warships and the US finally u-turned them in the Dardanelles passage, the entryway from the Mediterranean into the Black Sea in response to this warning.

US/NATO gave “unwavering” support to the Ukrainian government but the Ukrainian president backpedaled on his threat to go to war to regain Crimea. President Biden spoke with President Putin and called for a meeting between the two to reduce tensions.
