DESCRIPTION:This Year we are Highlighting Opposition to the “Golden Dome” \nThe US military preparations for global war continue – on land\, at sea\, in the air and in space. Wars cannot be fought these days without support from space systems\, and the aimof the U.S. Space Force is to ensure that it controls outer space and the Earth below. \nTrump’s provocative plan to build a ‘Golden Dome’ unmbrella over North Amrica would cost several trillion dollars and require even more cuts in social spending. If the system ever worked (which is unlikely) it would be a key component of Pentagon nuclear first strike planning. To create an impenetrable Dome is to dream the impossible dream. The US is cutting space observation projecys vital for understanding and mitigating the many and varies causes of environmental degradation. \nIs space as a war-fighting domain the reality we want to build out future on? Instead of weapons in space for a Golden Dome we should be leading the effort to ban weapons and warfare in space. \nMore information here
